El Campello may be a quaint little town in some part of Spain; however, its location in Alicante makes it one of the favorite holiday spot for the locals as well as foreigners. There is the delightful combination of old and natural at El Campello and its surroundings.

Ancient attractions

El Campello carries a rich history from the days of its earliest settlers, the Iberians. These ancient settlers have built inspiring buildings which are mainly circular in nature that are a sight to behold. However, its beauty was snatched by the Romans who came conquering. The new settlers built spas and rock pools which have been transformed into fish farms today.

There are other ancient attractions such as the old watch tower at the beach promenade. This tower is named after a famous sculptor artist, Vicente Ferrero, as Voramar de les Escultures.

Natural attractions

Beautiful unspoiled beaches form the best part of El Campello. The wide stretch of beach can accommodate hundreds of visitors in the summer who come for the great water sport facilities and unending sunshine for a great tan.

There is a lovely beach promenade that is beautiful constructed to delight visitors. It leads on to Playa de la Almadraba which is another delightful beach to spend the weekend. Colorful fishermen’s houses line the promenade to give a most exquisite panorama around that place.

There are plenty of restaurants, bars and cafes to offer the best of local snacks and a vibrant nightlife with music, lights and live entertainment.

There are numerous coves such as the rocky Coveta Fuma for a leisurely discovery besides the quaint bays like La Nuza and Cala Venta close to the beaches.

Wide sandy beaches at the beaches of Carrerlamar, Muchavista and San Juan attract thousands of visitors every summer. The fine golden sand offers a delightful holiday spot for individuals, romantic couples and families with children.

Nudists would enjoy a natural bask in the sun at Cala Cuartel which is close to El Campello. Alicante is a delightful province with plenty of lovely beaches to lure visitors every year from far and near with San Juan beach as the favorite.

There is no lack of beaches at Alicante; at its south, Santa Pola, Pilar de Horadada and Guardamar del Segura offer wide stretches of enchanting beaches while quiet and deserted beaches can be found at its south east. Quiet beaches include Agua Amarga and Los Saladares.
